Morse code is officially recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — celebrated as a universal form of non-verbal expression that transcends spoken languages and borders.
Many radio amateurs and SWL listeners have trouble with Morse code — and so do I. This little app is meant to help with decoding. Nothing beats the ear, but this comes close. The neural method does not work well yet, pending the data model from the developer. Until then I dived into DSP decoding, for now in particular for the FT‑991A by Yaesu (but other Yaesu radios too). Using the bandwidth settings in combination with the noise threshold, I managed to decode 32 wpm QSOs during the CQ WW WPX Contest in May 2026.
The app connects to one of the DX clusters for CW stations on the HF band you have selected — adjustable in the DX cluster window. You can also record a QSO and see whether other programs decode it better.
There is a Help menu inside the application that covers almost every topic in detail — the rest is up to ham spirit.
